Matthew Grimm, PT, DPT, CSCS

 Physical Therapist

Matt grew up in Fremont, Nebraska. Throughout high school he was a three-sport athlete competing in football, basketball, and baseball. A hand injury during his senior season of basketball that required physical therapy is where his passion for helping people recover from injuries began.

He attended the University of Nebraska Omaha where he earned a Bachelor’s of Education in Kinesiology. He continued his athletic career participating in intramural basketball and flag football. Throughout his time at UNO, he worked alongside UNO’s physical therapist and the sports medicine team. His experience working with Division 1 athletes paved his path toward sports physical therapy.

Matt received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Nebraska Medical Center where his passion and leadership for the physical therapy profession grew. He served as the SUN-APTA president and helped develop their social media presence to promote UNMC’s physical therapy students and activities. While in school Matt worked to earn his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification, furthering his knowledge of exercise physiology, biomechanics, and strength and conditioning programming.

He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) along with the Orthopedic and Sports sections of the APTA. He is also a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and dogs at the lake. He enjoys being active by lifting weights, hiking, running, and participating competitively in sand volleyball or slow pitch softball.
